For a bit of context, our teacher assigned us "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" to write a synopsis on.
Introduction
This is the front matter of the book. It gives a little background info, describes what to expect, reasons why this book will be worth the read, and tells the story of a teenage girl who can attest to the teachings of the book, or the first one at least.

Part I- The Set-up
Get in the Habit
“Get in the habit” also serves as an introduction. Some important concepts that will help the reader understand the book as a whole are found here. This chapter consists of Covey(the author)’s personal background and motives, and some info on the 7 habits of highly effective teens.
Paradigms and Principles
And finally, right before entering the bulk of the book, there are the “paradigms and principles”. This chapter is centralized around how paradigms are perceptions that can affect people in a large number of ways. These perceptions can either be of yourself, others, or just life in general.
Paradigms of life can then be further categorized into different centres: friends, stuff, boyfriend/girlfriend, school, parent, and principle.
At the end of the chapter, it informs the reader of something called baby steps, which are small, “bite-sized” activities to work toward the goal of the chapter. I think baby steps are a good idea by the author because with how busy teenagers can get nowadays it becomes hard to fit extra stuff. I liked the paradigms are like glasses similie that Covey used, because imagining it helped me understand the concept deeply.
Question: What occupies my time and energy? (28)
Answer: School, homework, activities outside of school like sports, classes, competitions, hobbies
