On Thursday the 17th of October, I took up the role of voting officer for the BC Student Vote 2024. Classes from every grade would visit the library at their designated times. Each student was then given a piece of paper to check their ideal candidate and dropped it into the ballot box. It was a fun event and rich with learning opportunities. As voting officer, I ensured that no sussy business was happening near the ballot boxes. I oversaw the voters as they dropped their folded paper into the bin, making sure of the following: paper folded properly, one ballot per person. And finally once that was all done I handed them the "I am a voter" sticker and thanked them for their participation.
